Belize City

3rd stop Belize City!

Belize was a little different to get to. We did ride tender boats to get to shore but it was like a 20-25 min ride opposed to the 5 min ride to Cayman Islands. The long ride was due to the fact that Belize has the 2nd largest coral reef in the world. Australia being the first.

We took a city tour on a cute little train. It was fun to see how they live and get a better understanding of Belize.

Belize is a "slowly" developing 3rd world country. On average per week a Belizian makes about $100 and a box of cereal cost about $14. A lot of the schools there have dress codes and have some sort of religious influence.

In Belize you see quite a few things painted yellow. There was this man, I can't remember his name :/ but he did a lot and spent a lot of money to help Belize and he believed that the color yellow would repel mosquitos. Later he died of malaria.

The missionaries :)

This is a stadium that was started in 2000 in honor of Marian Jones because her mom was from Belize but it still isn't finished and really isn't being worked on much.

We stopped at a chocolate factory.

On our way back we saw a ship from Germany. It has lips and eyes painted on it.
