Dec. 4th we had a pretty major power outage that affected about 50,000 people from Rexburg to Shelley.
It lasted about 6 maybe 7 hours for us and of course it happened on the coldest day we've had so far this winter! It was -9 that morning.
Steve woke up about 5:15 a.m. and saw that the power had gone out. We tried to sleep until about 6:30 hoping it would come back on.
Nope.
Steve heads to work without a shower or toast and we had to open the garage manually. I'm not complaining, it made for an exciting morning.
It really was humorous when we were coordinating the opening and closing of the garage door. We usually hug and kiss goodbye like any good couple before he leaves :)
so we open the garage door,
Steve pulls the car out,
he comes back to the door and we are so focused on closing the garage door we didn't even notice that we hadn't said goodbye.
We get the door closed, i'm on the inside and he is outside.
silence...
then i hear Steve yell "Love you!"...i yell back "Love you, too!" and i walk back in the house laughing!
When we came out for breakfast that morning we noticed that the temperature of our fish tanks were really cold. So all we could do was cover them to keep the heat in and hope the fish lived. Happy to say there were no casualties!
