Spring is in the air!

This weekend was a blast! My parents were still gone to Colorado so all the kids came home to Burley to welcome them home. It was super fun! Sara and I canned chicken, had a campfire and made
s'mores, played glow in the dark football and just played outside a LOT in the beautiful weather!

We dyed eggs with Kool-Aid. Never done it before and it turned out really well, minus the purple :( it just turned out black. We'll have to try some different things next time.

Canning Chicken! Let me say this is the smartest thing ever! Its cheaper than buying those little cans at the store and it is SOOOO nice to have. It eliminates two steps when prepping food, thawing and cooking the chicken. You just dump it into whatever you need it for (ex. enchiladas, casseroles, quesadillas...yum!!!) 

My Mom was going to help Sara and I pressure cook the chicken when she got back from Colorado but their flight ended up being cancelled because of some mechanical problem. They had to reschedule their flight. They were suppose to be back in Burley about 3-3:30 p.m. but didn't end up getting to SLC till 4:30 p.m. So Sara and I were on our own. We'd seen it done before but those pressure cookers are intimidating!!! With many calls to mom we got it done with only one casualty :) One of the bottles was weak and broke (see pics below)
