RIP to Steve's appendix

Playing in the rain.

My cousin Melanie graduated college so she threw a cinco de mayo party. It was delicious and I didn't have to cook dinner!

Mel made this pinada in like 7th grade or something and they filled it with candy and let the kids go at it.

Saturday night Steve wasn't feeling great. Thought he might have a stomach bug. As the night went on he did throw up but got no relief like you would with a bug. Sunday morning he drove himself to the urgent care. After the doctor assessed him he said he thought it was his appendix and needed to go to the ER for more testing. The urgent care didn't have the imaging equipment needed.

I arranged for Kendra to come be with our kids and Caleb and I met him at the ER. The tests and imaging came back as appendicitis and his appendix needed to come out later that day. They started prepping him with antibiotics and took us upstairs to the surgery floor.

This is pretty much the order of events:

8:00am Steve went to the urgent care
8:30 am Steve got sent to the ER
9:30 am Jileisa got to ER
9:50 am came back from CT
10 am found out it was appendicitis
10:45am got upstairs to surgery floor (room 333)
11:39 am dr. Hansen came to talk about surgery
12:25pm wheeled back for surgery
1:45 pm surgeon came in. He is out of surgery
2:15 brought back to room
6-7 pm back home

Caleb was a trooper!

This is from the blood pressure cuff. It squeezed so tight.

We are grateful for all the help we received, grateful his appendix didn't burst, grateful it was appendicitis and not something more serious!
